Conditions: At a distance of 30 yards, given a training tourniquet, pulse oximeter, 9-Hole Barricade, shot-timer, 8” steel target, and patrol rifle with 30 round magazine.
Standards: Beginning from a low-ready position with rifle in cruiser-safe status; Correctly and effectively apply CAT or SOF-T tourniquet to shooter’s choice of dominant or non-dominant arm (effectiveness verified by pulse oximeter following completion of drill). Then, using only the “non-injured” arm, fire and strike the steel target achieving 1 hit from each position before moving to the next barricade position.
Par Time: 80 seconds.
Conditions: At a distance of 10 yards, given 3 silhouette targets (with 8” high center mass hit zones), spaced 1 yard apart; shot-timer; pistol with two magazines and holster.
Standards: Beginning facing away from the targets with hands in the surrender position (palms at eye level); turn, draw and fire two shots at each target using two-hand grip; reload and fire two shots at each target using dominant hand only. Hits must be within 8” hit zone (no line breakers).
Par Time: 10 seconds
Conditions: At a distance of 7 yards, given 1 silhouette target with an 8” high center mass hit zone, shot-timer, pistol with 1 magazine and holster.
Standards: Beginning with hands touching at waist-level (interview position), draw, fire 5 shots. Hits must be within 8” hit zone (no line breakers). Repeat for a total of 4 evolutions (20 rounds). Manage ammo prior to drill.
Par Time: 3 seconds each evolution
Conditions: At a distance of 3 yards, given 1 target with 2” coin-sized dot, shot-timer, pistol with 3 magazines, loaded with one round each, and holster.
Standards: Beginning with hands touching at waist level (interview position), draw, fire one round, reload, fire one round, reload, fire one round. All three hits must be in coin-sized hit zone.
Par Time: 6.5 seconds
Conditions: At 50 yards, given 1 silhouette target with 8” upper center mass hit zone, shot-timer, patrol rifle with 3 magazines (1 mag with 4 rounds, 1 with 5 rounds, 1 with 6 rounds; randomized).
Standards: Beginning at the low ready position (muzzle below waste), fire first magazine from a standing position; conduct reload, fire second magazine from kneeling position; conduct reload, fire third magazine from prone position. *Safety must be engaged during reloads. Hits must be within 8” hit zone (line breakers do not count)
Par Time: 25 seconds
Conditions: Given a scram bag filled with 40 pounds of sand, pistol with magazine and holster, 8” steel target, sawhorse, and shot-timer.
Standards: Beginning at 50 yards, throw sand bag as many times as necessary until you reach the 20 yard line. Once at the 20 yard line, draw and fire at steel from above the sawhorse. Must achieve two hits before moving to next position. Fire through center opening of the sawhorse and achieve two hits before moving to below the sawhorse for two more hits. Finish with one hit from left and right of sawhorse.
Par Time: 50 seconds
Conditions: From 10 yards, given 3 silhouette targets with 8” upper thoracic hit zone, spaced 3 yards apart from each other, a rifle with 1 magazine, and shot-timer.
Standards: Beginning in a low-ready position (muzzle below belt), fire two shots on target one, two shots on target two, four shots on target three, then two shots on target two, and finish with two shots on target one. All hits must be within the 8" hit zone (no line breakers).
Par Time: 4 seconds
Conditions: Given one Critical Skills Academy T-Shirt Target, one patrol rifle with magazine, and shot-timer.
Standards: Beginning at the 30 yard line, rifle in cruiser safe status; run to target, then run to 50 yard line, then back to 30 yard line. From shooter’s choice of position, engage “T” with two shots. Both hits must be within the “T”. Line breakers DO count for this drill.
Par Time: 10 seconds from the time the shooter reaches the 30 yard firing position.
Conditions: Given one 100 pound rescue dummy, pistol with two mags and holster, shot-timer, 8” steel target, and two 55 gal barrels.
Standards: With rescue dummy located at 10 yard line and barrels located at 10 yards and 30 yards, shooter begins at 30 yards, firing from cover to achieve 3 hits on steel. Shooter then moves to rescue dummy and barrel, firing from cover to achieve 3 hits. Shooter then drags rescue dummy back to safety at 30 yard barrel and shoots from cover, until 3 hits are achieved; ending drill.
Par Time: 60 seconds
Conditions: From 7 yards, given one Critical Skills Academy T-Shirt Target, shot-timer, pistol with one magazine containing 3 live rounds and one dummy round (randomly placed in position 1, 2, or 3) and holster.
Standards: Draw, fire two rounds to the thoracic hit zone, and one to the “T”. Clearing failure to fire malfunction as necessary. Hits must be within the 8” hit zone (no line breakers) and within the “T” (line breaks ARE allowed for “T”.
Par Time: 4 seconds
To get Elite status, candidates must successfully complete all tasks in a single session with no more than 3 attempts at each. Candidates have a maximum of 3 chances to make the Elite list.
