Senior Critical Skills Instructor

Minimum Standards

1. Must have successfully completed an approved 40+ hour instructor development course; AND

2. If that course was completed outside of the previous 24 months;

a. must have successfully completed at least 80 hours of approved instructor development training within the previous 24 months;

OR

b. Formally served as the primary instructor for a minimum of 80 hours of instruction at an approved (and documented) course or combination of courses within the previous 24 months;

OR

c. A combination thereof equaling 80 hours within the previous 24 months

AND

3. Must hold or have held two or more of the following Certifications/Credentials:

a. Certified EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, or other approved healthcare professional

b. Certified EMS Instructor

c. First-Aid/CPR Instructor (American Heart Association)

d. Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor

e. Certified or sworn Federal, State, or Local law enforcement officer

f. Current or former member of any branch of the United States Military, with a rank of E-6 or higher (with honorable discharge if not currently serving)

g. Recipient of US Military award for combat action (ie; Combat Action Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Action Ribbon, etc. or equivalent)

h. Other approved Critical Skills Credential on a case by case basis


General Duties/Responsibilities

1. Develop Critical Skills training courses and associated curriculum, lesson plans, outlines, etc.

2. Independently plan and conduct training programs in Critical Skills topics such as firearms, tactics, emergency medicine, etc.

3. Supervise Critical Skills course development, presentation, and associated administrative tasks.

4. Maintain accurate and complete training records.

5. Plan, conduct, and/or supervise Critical Skills advisory activities for law enforcement, emergency services, and/or corporate clients.

6. Conduct risk management planning for various types of activities such as training and consulting operations.

7. Assist in company and course marketing activities.

8. Assist with other duties as assigned.
